Medical Malpractice Defense
In the realm of defending professional liability claims brought against physicians, nurses, hospitals, and other health care providers, the Firm's collective experience is more than 250 years. In those years, the members of the Firm have been instrumental in shaping the law of Maryland and the District of Columbia in the areas of evidentiary proof relative to claims against hospitals and physicians, the measure of damages available in health care cases, the protection of patient records, duties owed by health care providers to patients, and bad faith insurance cases, to name a few. Members of the Firm lecture to health care providers throughout Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia concerning risk management and other legal matters for which our guidance is requested. Such requests have included mock trials, deposition preparation, proper medical record keeping, and specific medical/legal areas, including birth-related neurological injuries. The Firm has likewise engaged medical experts in multiple medical disciplines to assist in the defense of matters assigned to it.
