Mr. Marriner is a shareholder in the Firm whose practice is devoted to the defense of claims for professional malpractice and civil litigation.  He represents individual health care providers and medical groups in a wide variety of medical specialties in professional malpractice claims.

Mr. Marriner has litigated cases in Maryland, the District of Columbia and the United States District Courts for Maryland.  He is responsible for all aspects of case management, including development of case strategy, conducting discovery, complex motions practice, bench trials and jury trials.  He is also responsible for appellate practice, including preparation of appellate briefs and the presentation of oral arguments to the appellate courts.  He has obtained many dismissals and summary judgments on behalf of his clients, tried several jury trials resulting in defense verdicts and successfully argued before the Courts of Appeal of Maryland. 

Prior to his employment with Wharton Levin Ehrmantraut & Klein, Mr. Marriner was a law clerk for the Honorable Judge Daniel M. Long, First Judicial Circuit in Maryland.  Thereafter, he entered private practice.  In addition to professional malpractice, he also has significant experience in general civil litigation, including personal injury and workers' compensation claims.
