Mr. Yateman, a Firm shareholder, has extensive experience in the fields of real estate law, estates and trusts, business organizations, contracts, and bankruptcy – and is deemed to be an expert in the fields of bank regulation and compliance issues, having represented a variety of banks and thrifts since 1973. Mr. Yateman has had practical experience in the representation of condominium and homeowner's associations across the state of Maryland – having served for several years as president of a large Baltimore County homeowner's association. In addition, Mr. Yateman has had both professional and practical experience in land use and conservation matters. As a founding trustee of the Caves Valley Land Trust and as counsel to builders and developers, Mr. Yateman has gained a keen awareness of the complexity of the issues involved in this area of the law. Mr. Yateman has tried cases in the Maryland Circuit Courts, Federal District Court and U.S. Bankruptcy Courts, and has appeared in hearings before a number of federal and State agencies. Additionally, Mr. Yateman regularly represents clients before arbitration panels, and in alternative dispute resolution.
Mr. Yateman has been actively involved in a number of philanthropic and professional organizations and has proudly devoted a large amount of time to the activities of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Maryland Chapter.
Before joining Wharton Levin Ehrmantraut & Klein, Mr. Yateman was a named principal in Mezger, Muly & Yateman (1973-2004) and served as a legislative aide to United States Senator Charles Mac Mathias, Jr. (1970-1973).
