The Firm has extensive experience
protecting the interests of a wide array of manufacturers in product
liability litigation. The Firm regularly appears as trial counsel
for its clients in serious product liability cases in Maryland
and the surrounding states. Moreover, since the latter part of
the 1980's, the Firm has served as national coordinating counsel
for various companies in mass tort and other "pattern" litigation,
utilizing the latest in computer and communications technologies
to manage and coordinate a nationwide network of local counsel
in virtually every state, plus Canada and the Caribbean islands.
In addition to courtroom representation, the Firm also provides
counseling to its manufacturer clients on product liability risk
management issues. The Firm's members regularly publish and lecture
on product liability and allied procedural topics, and have briefed
and argued many of the significant appellate decisions that have
shaped the development and contours of Maryland product liability
law. Our lawyers have long been actively involved both locally
and nationally in product liability and other tort reform efforts,
assisting clients with position papers, legislative drafting, and
providing testimony before legislative and other rule-making authorities.
