Mr. Weisberg, a Firm shareholder,
is a business and personal legal adviser who counsels clients on
a wide range of legal issues. He regularly represents closely held
and mid-size companies in general business counseling, litigation,
commercial leasing, mergers and acquisitions, as well as in real
estate transactions, financing, joint ventures and corporate restructurings. His
business clients run the gamut from physician and dental practice
groups, building contractors and engineering firms, to marina and
commercial property owners and retail merchants. Mr. Weisberg has
litigated several hundred commercial disputes in the Maryland Circuit
and District Courts, Federal District Court, and U.S. Bankruptcy
Courts, and has appeared before the Maryland Court of Appeals and
Court of Special Appeals. He has served for ten years as a settlement
conference officer for the Alternative Dispute Resolution efforts
of the Circuit Court for Anne Arundel County.
Mr. Weisberg has also developed a strong concentration in the law of wills
and trusts and the administration of estates. In that practice he helps
a wide variety of clients craft comprehensive estate plans taking into account
the client's individual situation and wealth transfer wishes. He has drafted
and implemented complex estate arrangements including insurance trusts,
charitable remainder trusts, and the use of disclaimers in post mortem estate
planning. He has substantial experience in business succession planning
as a part of the wealth transfer strategies offered his business clients.
Before joining Wharton Levin Ehrmantraut & Klein in 2010,
Mr. Weisberg worked as an associate in the firm of Atwater & Stone,
in Baltimore (1981-1984), was a partner in the firm of Becker,
Spahn, Harvis & Fila in Columbia (1984-1987), and engaged in
