Mr. Farley is a shareholder in
the Firm whose practice is devoted to the defense of claims for
medical and professional malpractice. He has extensive expertise
in the defense of health care professionals and institutions against
claims of medical and professional malpractice and has represented
injured parties as well. Mr. Farley has tried over 75 cases to
verdict in Maryland, the District of Columbia, and the Commonwealth
of Virginia. He appears regularly before state and federal trial
and appellate courts in those jurisdictions, and is responsible
for all aspects of case management, including the development of
case strategy, trial and briefing and arguing any appeals. He has
been a frequent speaker to various health care professional groups
and health care institutions on all issues of medical malpractice
defense. Mr. Farley also is a civil litigation mediator.
After completing law school, Mr. Farley was law clerk to the Honorable
James F. Couch, Jr. of the Court of Appeals of Maryland, after
which he entered private practice. Prior to joining Wharton Levin
Ehrmantraut & Klein,
Mr. Farley was the managing partner of a national law firm whose
sole practice was the defense of complex medical malpractice actions
in Maryland, the District of Columbia, Virginia and West
Virginia. He also has
significant experience in general civil litigation, including personal
injury and worker's compensation claims. Mr. Farley is a member
of the Federal and State Bar Associations of Maryland, the District
of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Virginia, West Virginia, and
of the Supreme Court of the United States.
