Mr. Callender joined the Firm
as an associate in 2004, following his exceptional service in the
Judge Advocate General's Corps wherein he prosecuted nearly 100
cases for the United States Navy. Prior to that time, Mr. Callender
served as the law clerk to Chief Judge H.F. "Sparky" Gierke
of the United States Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces, the
Article I court exercising worldwide appellate jurisdiction over
members of the United States armed forces.
An accomplished federal prosecutor, Mr. Callender handles all of the Firm's
criminal cases. Given his significant trial experience, it is not surprising
that Mr. Callender's talents have also proven successful in winning complex,
civil malpractice cases within Maryland's Circuit Courts. Moreover, Mr.
Callender has also gained recognition as an appellate advocate, successfully
arguing appellate cases in both the Court of Special Appeals and Maryland's
highest court, the Court of Appeals.
A significant contributor to local law schools, Mr. Callender repeatedly
has been selected to judge both the National Security Law and Grenadier
International Law Moot Court Competitions at George Washington
University Law School.
